ASSIGNMENT 1

AUTO LEVELLING

For the first assignment of site surveying, we were needed to produce a report on auto levelling. Each of the group comprises of 4 students. As for me, I grouped with Albert, Jack and Lek Vun. We were required to measure the reduced level of 10 locations around the staff's parking at Taylor's University Lakeside Campus. By assuming a reduced level of 100.000m AOD at a lamp post labelled BM101. After that, we were required to calculate the reduced level of 10 other locations. Therefore, we need to do 10 set-ups of auto level. By setting the auto level and levelling rod, we then take the backsight and foresight readings for each set.

After the readings were taken, we calculate the reduced level by using Rise and Fall Method and Height of Collimation Method. The result of our calculation arrived at a misclosure of -0.015 which was acceptable. We then distributed the error to arrive at our final reduced level readings.

Through this assignment, I get to experience in handling surveying equipments. Without the cooperation of any of our group members, there's no way to get this assignment done so successful. I'm so glad that every one of us did our very best in this assignment.
