ASSIGNMENT 2

Produce BQ using Buildsoft

 

 

This individual assignment constitutes 25% of the total assessment. This assignment is to develop student’s technical knowledge and practical computer skills on using Buildsoft. This assignment integrates between Measurement 4 and Software Application for Quantity Surveying modules. Each student has been assigned to measure certain elements and prepare a Bill of Quantities in Measurement 4 module. As for me, I'm in charge of Doors. We are required to prepare a complete Bill of Quantities (EOX and POX files) by using Buildsoft comprising the items below:-

1) Bills of Quantities; with necessary descriptions, quantities and conversion codes.

2) Price build-up and necessary estimating data, material, labour and machinery rates with necessary supplier quotations as support documents.

And in the end, we are required to produce a BQ completed with rates.

This assignment has taught me how to create a price list for certain element like doors. I'm glad that I'm able to get the price from calling for quotation as well as getting the labour rates from CIDB. And eventually come out with a standard rates for all of the material costs and labour costs. This assignment really helps me to understand more on estimating.
