CHAPTER 1 

Research Proposal

 

In Chapter 1 of the dissertation, we were assigned to produce a title for our dissertation and write a research proposal for the title chosen. It actually is an introduction of our research topic. It includes background, problem statement, previous similar studies, research aim, research questions and objectives, scope of limitation, importance of study, research design, research programme and structure of the report.

As for me, my research title was key challenges towards the sustainable construction in Malaysia. I'm glad that I was aware of the issues and be able to search for resources in order to complete this proposal. 

 

CHAPTER 2 

Literature Review

​

After Chapter 1, we were needed to write a literature review for Chapter 2 of the dissertation. It is another in depth discussion on our research topic which meets our research objectives that we've set before this. It gives a bigger picture on our research title.

 

As for me, I write an introduction of Chapter 2, the definition of green building, the benefits of green building, comparison between green building and conventional building, implementation of green building in Malaysia, challenges towards sustainable construction, solution towards the implementation of green building, conclusion, summary of literature review as well as the findings in relation to the first and second objectives. Lastly, the gap in the literature reviewed.

Through this task, I'm glad that I was be able to explore and give a more in-depth approach to look for the resources and eventually to write a successful literature review of my dissertation. I've learned to synthesize the data founded and analyze them.
