PRACTICAL TASKS 

ELEMENTAL COST ANALYSIS [ECA]

 

 

Besides Industrial Training Report, we were required to do Elemental Cost Analysis.

We were assigned to prepare 3 forms. 

Form 1- Information on total project, analysis of single building and brief cost information

Form 2- Summary of element costs

Form 3- Brief Specific

 

As this is to train students to implement the method of preparing ECA for all projects as well as implement knowledge of the Building Economics effectively in applying theory to practice. Most importantly, to helps student to generate ideas as how costs could have been allocated and distributed to obtain a more balanced distribution of cost for designs.

From this assignment, I have learned to define issues or problems well in preparing the ECA for proposed projects. Furthermore, execute remedial action to be taken on receipt of tenders above the budget as well as evaluate and able to reveal the sources of over-expenditure.
