ASSIGNMENT 1 

Single storey bungalows Class D

in Semenyih, Selangor.

 

 

For this group assignment, we were divided into a group of six. Our group members are Chin Weng Lok, Tan Kiah Chun, Tan Jia Yi, Lee Ren Jet, Yeo Dor Een and I, Sherlyn Ang. We were required to prepare the Bills of Quantities (BQ) of the following elements for the project :

• External Wall  

• Internal Wall

• External Wall Finishes

• Internal Wall Finishes

• External Floor Finishes (except staircases)

• Internal Floor Finishes (except staircases)

 

Furthermore, we were need to submit our answer scripts with cover page, contents of documents, printed Bills of Quantities, taking-off list and query list. The objectives of this assignment is to broaden and refine student's skills relating to the measurement and description of building works. Furthermore, to understand the purposes, the characteristics and skills of specification writing of the various trades as well as to identify the method of measurement for different types of architectural finishes and workmanship.

 

Through this assignment, I'm able to write proper description for each of the elements in the drawings. I'm also able to apply the right way of taking-off elements that found in the drawings. Besides that, knew the requirements for writing a proper Bills of Quantities (BQ) as well as developed critical thinking skills by visualizing those drawings given through this assignment. I've also learned the importance of working as a team, every team members have to cooperate very well to get this assignment completed in time. Lastly, I would like to thank Ms. Habizah for her guidance all along this assignment.
