This is a 4 credit hour module conducted over a period of 14 weeks. The modes of delivery will be in the form of lectures, tutorials and self-directed study. This module provide an overview of the concept and knowledge on the actual construction practice at the site. Furthermore, it develops the ability for us to apply the complete constructional procedures of the various types of building with suitable methods, materials, equipment and systems.

 

From the lectures that had been conducted by Mr. Chiew, I’ve learned a lot on formwork system, retaining walls, dewatering system, curtain walls, pre-stressing, green building construction and also space frame. Most importantly, understand the logical sequence of local construction projects. I believe that this module will eventually help us in measurement and management in the future when we are going out for practice.
