ASSIGNMENT 2
TRAVERSING
Different from the first assignment, we were needed to produce a report on traversing for second assignment. The traversing that we have done is a closed loop traverse. The surveying equipments that we used were theodolite, levelling rod, plumb bob and tripod. Each group need to mark at least 4 points within staff's carpark. We were required to measure horizontal and vertical angles at these 4 points which labelled as A, B, C and D.
Among all of the assignments that I've done before, this was the most challenging assignment ever I would said. It's hard especially when adjusting the air bubble to ensure it was in the middle of the spirit level in order to get an accurate reading. We took two sets of readings in total because the readings that we took in the first set were inaccurate. Therefore, learnt from mistake, we took the second set on the following week. Although the readings that we took for the second set were inaccurate as well but it was much more better than the first readings that we got.
Through this assignment, I really learned a lot from our group leader, Albert. His amazing leadership ensure us to finish this assignment successfully and smoothly from the beginning. And of course, without the guidance of Mr. Chai, we won't be able to carry out traversing these well. By handling those equipments, it's really a "learning beyond classroom! "
