GROUP ASSIGNMENT 

Case Study Report on Project implementing Value Management in the Construction Industry

 

This group assignment constitutes 30% of the total assessment.

Therefore, in a group of 7, we were needed to prepare a case study report on a project of our choice where a Value Management study has been conducted by our value management team for presentation to our client.

​

Furthermore, we were asked to include an introduction (primary purpose of VM study), executive summary of project under study, the result of Functional Analysis or any VM tools and techniques, sketches before and after design showing the proposed changes of design, technical data supporting the selection of alternatives, cost plan, action plan as well as recommendation. As for our group, we work on a resort hotel.

From this assignment, I've learned to create an understanding in general the value process, function analysis and team dynamics in the client’s value system. Furthermore, I've learned to think creatively and analytically and apply proper alternatives for the proposed design. My team members and I had really done an amazing job through proper scheduling of time for this assignment and our intense discussions on the design part to enhance the overall value of the project really make us realize the importance of team work. It was an interesting group assignment overall and we had a smooth collaboration in brainstorming ideas.
